DONNA BOLLINGER
– FOUNDER
AND DIRECTOR
God has blessed
me with an exciting
life, supported
me through refining
times and strengthened
me for exactly this
moment. My life
will be a joyful
song for Him as
we form Legacy,
a vision to develop
future leaders with
character. We will
be supporting, starting,
marketing and enriching
programs and events
for youth that fall
in line with our
goal. As we focus
on the youth of
our community, we
will learn and grow
from them with a
mutual respect.
That respect will
improve discipline,
as we attempt to
view life from the
eyes of the child.
It is a win-win
situation!
I sing, jump, run,
swim, play just
about any sport,
laugh and cry with
kids. Having a happy
childhood, a successful
swimming career
and later excelling
in many activities
such as cycling,
triathlons, tae
kwon do, and even
stunt driving I
know the taste of
a challenge met.
I want to give back
to God for all of
the great things
He has given me.
To see a smile and
a face light up
is the goal, and
we are going to
set records as we
light up this community.
First hand experiences
with the challenges
of the ocean made
me realize that
those challenges
are very similar
to the challenges
we face in life.
Getting familiar
with the ocean is
a great way to teach
youth how to overcome
obstacles, meet
challenges, be prepared
and remain calm.
After having four
children of my own
in a span of 4 years,
I had my hands full
and loved every
second of the challenge,
signing my kids
up for all the fun
activities we could
find in which to
participate. I soon
came to recognize
the difference in
quality from one
activity to another.
School of Skills
was a Basketball
Skills and Fundamentals
program that I signed
my boys up for when
we lived in Los
Angeles. The program
topped any we had
ever participated
in before, and not
only did my boys
“take off” with
athletic skills,
but their life skills
were soaring too.
Sorely missing the
program when we
moved to Brevard,
We made a successful
attempt to introduce
it here, with the
help of proactive
community youth
leaders. Our hope
is to create many
more programs which
stress skills and
fundamentals.
We chose the name
Legacy because the
youth we serve today
will eventually serve
others, and that
will continue long
after were gone.

DL HOUSTON - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
I have spent my
life coaching,
training, and
teaching
numerous
athletes, many
of those went on
to play in the
NCAA and the
NFL. During my
coaching career
at Mater Dei
High School, in
Santa Ana
California, we
were awarded the
USA Today
National
Championship in
football. In
addition, the
Mater Dei
basketball
program holds
numerous
championships.
There is a
reason why they
win year in and
year out, they
train very hard
in improving
both individual
and team skills
and
fundamentals. As
the Assistant
Video
Coordinator with
John Kravtek at
UCF, I
experienced
Coach O'Leary
building a new
football
program. Living
on the beach in
southern
California, I
saw first hand
the awesome
Huntington Beach
Junior Lifeguard
program Dave
Simcox has
built. This
Junior Lifeguard
Program has been
in existence for
over 20 years
with over 1200
annual
participants.
It is our
mission to
establish these
types of high
profile programs
in our community
and nationwide.
We found that
there are many
great student
athletes in
Brevard County,
but there is an
ongoing need to
increase their
skills and
fundamentals to
compete at a
higher level. In
order to be a
champion, you
need
championship
coaches. We
believe Legacy
Sports & Life
Skills is the
right place for
you to send your
student athlete
to be the best
they can be, but
more
importantly, we
want to build
future leaders
with character.
JIM SOLOMAN, AQUATICS DIRECTOR
Jim Solomon, of
Indialantic, is
our director of
Junior Lifeguard
Programs. He also
serves as Head Varsity
Swim Coach at Melbourne
Central Catholic
High School. He
is a former Brevard
County Ocean Lifeguard
and a veteran at
teaching life skills.
He formed his own
swim school in 2000
where youth gain
invaluable life
experiences, such
as positive competitive
behaviors, social
skills, decision
making, self-discipline,
and more. He encourages
people to set goals,
get better at your
stroke, condition
your body, feel
better mentally
and physically,
live healthier lives
and make quality
friendships. A former
Florida State Paddleboard
Champion, Jim will
be introducing us
to the sport of
Competitive Surf
Lifesaving. He is
a WSI Certified
teacher with the
American Red Cross
and currently holds
certifications from
Health First Training
Center.
GEORGE SEGUNA, SURF DIRECTOR
George, 46 years
old, was raised
in Satellite Beach,
FL. He has been
married for twenty-three
years, and has three
children who all enjoy
surfing. George
is a seasoned surfer
who has competed
in both the professional
and amateur ranks.
He has also owned
and operated his
own construction
business for over
twenty-five years.
In 2006, George
formed the SHS Surf
Team in an effort
to give the surfing
athlete recognition
in high school sports.
He has organized,
conducted, and judged
a number of surfing
contests over the
past 4 years. He
is the Asst. Director
of the National
Scholastic Surfing
Association (NSSA)
South Eastern Conference
in Florida, Director
of the Collegiate
Surfing Association
(CSA), Asst. Contest
coordinator for
The Sebastian Inlet
Pro, also known
as The SI Pro, Director
of the AAU National
Surfing Championships
held in Cocoa Beach
at the end of October
each year and he
also works closely
with the Slater
Brothers on their
contest known as
The Sean & Skippy
Slater Invitational
held in the beginning
of November yearly
in Cocoa Beach.
George’s latest
appointment is Surfing
Director of Legacy
Sports and Life
Skills.
George has been
the head coach of
The Satellite High
School Surf Team
for the past 3 years.
Currently the team
is ranked 5th in
the nation out of
32 high school surf
teams. He was also
in charge of organizing
and running the
first ever high
school surfing contest
in the state of
Florida at Sebastian
Inlet on April 19th
2008 which was a
great success. He
likes working closely
with the youth of
Brevard to promote
the healthy sport
of surfing and ocean
safety. He feels
that bringing together
high school surfers
and letting them
teach the next generation
of young kids to
be safe in and around
the ocean, to respect
themselves and others,
and to enjoy the
wonderful sport
of surfing is much
needed here in Brevard
County. He believes
this is an excellent
way to pass excitement
on to the kids and
parents of our wonderful
community.
WYATT WERENETH, JUNIOR LIFEGUARD CHIEF
Wyatt Werneth has
been saving lives

his passions and
we are fortunate
to have him on the
beach with us. Wyatt
holds a Guinness
World Record for
paddle boarding
along the entire
coast of Florida
in a very successful
effort to raise
awareness for ocean
and boating safety.
Wyatt is our “anchor
man” who will be
training and gearing
up guards and junior
guards that lead
with character into
the future.
Wyatt is an avid
competitor in the
sport of lifesaving
and will be introducing
us to the many events
offered on the beach
and in the surf.
Competitive Surf
Lifesaving is slated
to become an Olympic
event by the year
2012 and we plan
on training future
Olympians.
Cocoa Beach, Florida
is home to Wyatt
and his wife Pamela
and their seven
year old daughter,
Saylor. No stranger
to a challenge,
Wyatt believes that
teaching good quality
life skills to youth,
will provide them
with the tools necessary
to navigate through
the storms of life.
For Wyatt, the ocean
provides the perfect
setting.
